Title: Material Exploration-Upcycle ​

Through the repurposing of existing clothing items, this project is about extending the life of clothing. By not buying new clothing, I am not adding to the amount of product that exists on the planet, and I am also keeping clothing out of landfills where they would live for the rest of time. By changing the item, dying, painting, embellishing, etc, the object gets a new life transformed into something that appears new. It is given a new story. Throughout the recording and sharing process, I am able to educate viewers in hopes that they will take the project and try it themselves. However, with sharing work, especially experimental work, one opens themselves up to the critics hiding behind their computer screens. While I have to put myself in a vulnerable situation when sharing my work, others get to express their feelings freely, often without thinking of what they are saying or who is on the receiving end.
